TOLL QRX 2

Client: Builder

Discipline: Industrial

Completion: Late 2012

PSE was awarded electrical design and construct project working directly for the builder. Project comprised of upgrades to the ageing trucking facility resulting from its increased use servicing most of Brisbane and Ipswich.

Project involved extension of a new 12,000msq trucking awning for purposed of loading and unloading multiple trucks, office and staff facilities, 2-storey operation buildings, maintenance warehouse and gatehouse.

TOLL QRX 1

Due to the substantial roadway lighting required within the site, large 2kW 20M mast poles were used to sufficiently light site externals. As the awning was so large and mainly needed to be used at night, achieving energy efficiency was a challenge when it came to lighting.

Dimmable LED high bay lights were then used inside the awing, connected to a daylight sensor. This enabled the customer to make optimum used of ambient light and increase/decrease the artificial light levels automatically as required.

It is estimated a 50% saving in running costs with the use of automated lighting control.
